Your child will begin this unit on measurement by reviewing what he knows about telling time and by practicing telling time to the minute. He will then learn about elapsed time and will develop strategies for determining how much time has passed in given situations. Next, your child will explore measuring weight and volume/capacity using both U.S. customary units and metric units. He will distinguish different units within both systems and will learn to select appropriate units based on what's being measured. For his final project, your child will create a video or live show to teach others about measuring volume/capacity.
