During this unit, your child will extend her understanding of place value to include three-digit numbers as she counts, reads, writes, sequences, and compares numbers to 1000. She will also continue to develop her mental math skills as she practices skip counting by 10s and 100s within 1000. In addition, the unit provides opportunities for her to continue developing addition and subtraction skills, with a particular focus on composing tens/carrying when adding two-digit numbers. The unit culminates with a Place Value Think Tac Toe project that allows your child to choose how to show her mastery of creating three-digit numbers, comparing three-digit numbers, and adding and subtracting two-digit numbers.
