During this unit, your child will apply his understanding of basic 2D and 3D shapes to identifying, distinguishing, and creating shapes based on their specific attributes and parts, including sides, angles, vertices, faces, and edges. In addition, he will practice dividing shapes into halves, quarters, and thirds and will apply this work to a real-world problem. He will also explore tessellations and tangrams. As a culmination for this unit, your child will create plans for a new playground.
