Hi Christina,
Thanks for reaching out to us with your question. Our approach is to teach evolution as it is accepted by science. We do teach evolution as a sufficient explanation for the biological diversity that we see in the world today. Our unit does not discuss any of the religious philosophies such as Intelligent Design or other creationist views.
I understand that this is not what your family probably believes, but if you approach it right, this could be a great time of learning and exploration for you and your child. If your child continues on to high school and college level biology classes, a solid understanding of this basic tenet of science will be quite important. If you have any additional questions about this, please let me know.
