  1. Rock Cycle This image from the Center for Educational Technologies may also be helpful in understanding the rock cycle.
  2. The Mineral Identification Key This interactive guide from the Mineralogical Society of America is more detailed and comprehensive. Click the link in the middle of the page to learn more about a property and how to test/determine it.
  3. Mineral Identification This guide from Minerology4Kids (created by the Mineralogical Society of America) asks you to test just a few mineral properties to help you identify the mineral. Once you view the chart of possible matches, you can test the streak color and compare it to the results in the chart.
  4. Pictures of Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary Rocks This website has pictures and descriptions of many common rocks.
  5. What Type of Rock Do I Have? This page will help you narrow down which type of rock you're looking at. Optionally you can click the Rock Cycle menu at the top of the page and click igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic to help you further identify the rock type.
